SANTO DOMINGO—Team St. Marten competed in the NACAC (North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association) Under 13 and Under 15 Age Group Meet held in the Dominican Republic July 15 and 16.
“St. Maarten took part in the U13 Pentatlon category and placed 6th and 10th overall out of 32 boys while the girls placed 11th and 17th overall out of 37,” said Coach Abdule Wattley. “With the new Federation (St. Maarten National Federation) “in place for just over one year, these are our first set of medals.” The meet was held in the Barranquita Sports Complex snd featured some of the regions top rising stars. In the Long Jump individual results boys St. Maarten’s Nessiah Wyatte placed 11th and Nahjah Wyatte was 15th. In the girls under 13 group Joleen Tomlin finished 6th and Shadwayna Gumbs was 25th 60m Dash Nessiah Wyatte placed 8th and Nahjah Wyatte 6th in the Boys Under 13 60m Dash while in the girls division Joleen Tomlin was 6th and Shadwayna Gumbs was 12th.
Ball Throw
Nessiah Wyatte finished 13th and Nahjah Wyatte 25th in the Ball Throw. Joleen Tomlin was 2nd and Shadwayna Gumbs 16th. Run The team also competed in the Individual 1,000m race. Nessiah Wyatte placed 6th and Nahjah Wyatte was 3rd. The girls ran 800m. Joleen Tomlin was 23rd and Shadwayna Gumbs finished 18th. High Jump Nessiah Wyatte was 5th and Nahjah Wyatte 8th in the High Jump. Joleen Tomlin was 26th and Shadwayna Gumbs 17th.
