DONATIONS
The National Sports Institute is a government-subsidized NGO. However, the subsidy received is limited to the government’s own sports budget. The NSI cannot rely only on the subsidy but need to seek additional funding to realize the necessities for sport development on Sint Maarten.
We believe in creating a sports product that will eventually lead to much-needed sports tourism on our island. To do this however, we must first invest in our sports product. These are:
- Our sports facilities
- Our sport programs
- Our coaches
- Our athletes
The sport facilities are in dire need of repair and upgrading. With international standard sport facilities, we will be able to attract renowned sport organizations to our country, for international games, and practices.
The sport programs are in dire need of additional funding. With well-structured and recognized sport programs we will be able to form alliances with other countries and create sport traffic to and from our island.
There is much need for qualified level 3 and 4 coaches on the island. With this type of coach, we can offer other islands coaching and training sessions on our island.
Our athletes need to be trained and qualified, to be able to be attractive to big multinational companies such as NIKE, ADIDAS etc.
All of this takes investing in our sports development in order to attract companies and countries and thus create the sport tourism that will benefit businesses on our island as well as the economy and job creation in sports. It will promote a healthier life style, mitigate life of crime, and create job opportunities in sports.
We believe that as a country we can invest in our sport product, that on the longer run will benefit our country on the whole. Your contribution to the cause will ensure a healthier, safer, and prosperous island for us all.
There is no limit to the amount you can donate. You can donate anonymously or by leaving your name and number for a token of appreciation from NSI. Pledge your support by donation, either financially or material. A list /package of needed assistance will be provided once you pledge your support in materials.
