Leonald Connor advanced to the final this past week defeating St. Joseph School 22-4. The win elevated Leonald Connor into first place of Pool A with four wins for a total of 20 points. Gumbs 2 earned a trip to the final defeating the Seventh-day Adventist 10-6. Gumbs 2 tops Pool B with four wins for 20 points.
In the first match, Hillside Christian defeated MAC Gumbs 1. Hillside goal shooter Aljenee Henry scored six points for her team and the goal attack Sina Delice scored 8. For MAC Gumbs 1 Aimee Javois, goal shooter, scored six, and Desjanaiah Lake, goal attack, scored one.
In the second match MAC Gumbs 2 blasted Dr. M.L. King MAC Gumbs 2 won 21-4. MAC Gumbs 2 Tyler Timothy (Goal Attack) stole the show with 13 goals and her teammate Ruth Paul (goal shooter) contributed 8. MLK’s Destinee Jacobs (goal shooter) scored one goal and Nikayla Chittick (goal attack) scored three. The Connor defense held St. Joseph’s Danaysha Richinsin (goal shooter) to only one goal and Laylah Chang (goal attack) three. Connor goal-attack Shyene Duncan scored twelve goals, Goal shooter Shenecia Nelson scored five, and Q3 GS substitute Magdarline Fleurival had five. For Maillard Goal shooter Shienna Williams scored three and Goal attack Chelsea Florestal scored three. Goal attack for Borgia Kaylee Thomas scored five points and Goal shooter Rhëysa Tjon-Tam-Pau scored once.
In the last match of the day, MAC J.A. Gumbs 2 upset the Seventh-day Adventist school 10-6. Gumbs 2 found the key to victory was to lockdown SDA goal attack Disheyla James and not allow her to score at all. SDA goal shooter Makysha Jederon scored six in a losing cause. Gumbs Goal attack Tyler Timothy remained on point with her shooting scoring five goals and her team mate Ruth Paul (goal shooter) also scored five.
